A 7.7 Earthquake Birthday

Esperanza (Panching) Calo- Maano celebrated her birthday last 30 August 2012.  At 79, she is now the oldest survivng direct descendant of the Manuel Calo- Juanita Patuasi branch of the Calo Family Tree. She quitely marked the day with a simple Jollibee meal with her eldest apo, Nikki and daughters Candy and Annabelle.  However, it turned out to be a three- day long celebration when her daughters, grandchildren and son-in-law based in Manila came home for the occassion.  What made it even memorable was the intensity 7.7 tectonic earthquake at 9:00 p.m. of 31 August that rattled a large portion of the Philippines. What a way to mark a birthday!
